In some Kentucky motor vehicle crashes, the factors that caused it are readily known. In others, however, understanding what happened may be a challenge. Further investigation may be required in an attempt to understand the factors that caused a devastating car accident, especially if the driver deemed responsible for it died in the collision.
This is the case in a wreck that took place on a recent Monday morning at approximately 11:34 a.m. The driver believed responsible for the crash died at the scene. It may never be known what caused the deceased driver to veer into the oncoming lane of traffic into the path of the other vehicle involved.
The driver of that other vehicle suffered severe injuries for which she was initially transported to a local hospital. She was then taken by medical helicopter to another hospital in Tennessee for further treatment. At last report, her condition was still listed as critical.
If the 27-year-old Kentucky woman survives her injuries, she will more than likely be facing a significant recovery period. Since the accident, and possibly well into the future, she began incurring medical expenses and perhaps losing income. The financial stresses may only add to her ordeal and could make her recovery more stressful.
The woman may exercise her right to file a personal injury claim against the estate of the deceased driver in connection with this devastating car accident. If she successfully establishes through the appropriate evidence that the negligence of the other driver led to her injuries, a civil court may award her damages. Any restitution received in cases such as these may help with the inevitable financial losses that accompany such tragedies.
